When I first downloaded this, I wasn't very into it, and probably would have given it 3 stars. It's not as catchy as the entire What it is to Burn album, for sure. Also not as hard as Say Hello to Sunshine, which was a minor disappointment to me, since I love that CD beyond all reason. A couple of people have called it a blend of the two styles, which I think is a fair characterization. There are also a couple of songs towards the end of the CD that are not as strong as the rest, and probably could have been cut to make for a stronger album overall (Tarot, Us v. Them). However, after a few listens, it has really grown on me, and I think it is nearly as solid an effort as either of their other CDs. What really made this CD finally click with me is that after a few spins that I was unenthused about, I gave it a chance and I blasted it out of my stereo. The guitar riffs that make the whole album seem to blend into one mess at a low volume really need to be heard at full blast to sound their best. It made me go from feeling "meh" about the CD to becoming a big fan. I actually went to see the band a few days back, and the songs they play off of this CD really fit in perfectly with the rest of their awesome old material, which really just solidified my opinion. Now that I "get" this album, I'd really say that this CD is a must-have for anyone who liked either of their other albums.
