I purchased these boots in March 2020 after my horse bumped his leg and developed a small splint. I wanted to keep him from reinjuring himself while being ridden, and was looking for boots that would not rub or allow dirt to get inside of them, which my trainers had told me that they had never had success with any boots they had used in the past because of those reasons.I was talking to my vet about this, and she told me about the Back on Track boots. She has a 17 hand Andalusian/Frisian cross, and she loves these boots. She went out and got them out of her car so that I could see the quality. She said she uses them on her horse when riding for about 6 to 8 hours a week, cleans them with the gentle cycle in her washing machine when needed, and she has never had a problem. I have a 14.2 Paso Fino, so these boots looked really HUGE, and she laughed and told me that they come in different sizes, and I should probably get a small. I went home and bought a black pair from Amazon, and I have to say that my vet was right.These boots have been GREAT, and I have had no problems with them. I love how they fit, and that they totally enclose the lower legs. No dirt gets in at all that would chafe my horse’s skin, and these boots are thick enough to not harm his tendons. They do not move once they are put on, so there is no rubbing of his skin. I put them on starting at the top to the bottom. The velcro is very sturdy, so much that they can be a bit difficult to get off at the bottom where they wrap around the fetlock, but I either pick up his leg and undo the bottom velcro like that, or I go to his other side and undo the velcro from there. I’ve been using them 3 times a week for five months now, and I have been just rinsing them off when they get muddy and letting them air dry in the back of my car. All the stitching still looks tight, velcro still works perfectly, and I will purchase these again when they wear out—but I can’t see that happening for quite some time. Thanks to Back on Track for making such a great product! These boot have really helped my horse with no further injury problems to his legs, and he does not mind wearing them at all.
