My cat is old and has separation anxiety, so I went looking for this carrier so that taking him outside the house could be a comfortable option for him, me, and my partner. My friend has one very much like this (it may even be the same one), so I had an idea of what I was looking for. My main concern was that it needed to be roomy and comfortable for him, with both the option to carry as a backpack as well as open it up into a mini-play pen. The deciding factor was that this posting has a picture of a cat with a caption saying its weight of 14.5 pounds (thank you, seller, for doing that - it helped so much in making the decision).The package arrived on time, and when I opened it, it was as expected - the right size, feels like a solid build, and my cat immediately crawled into it as soon as I opened it into play pen mode. If something changes drastically (e.g. a strap falls off the first month) I'll update this posting, but at the moment I'm 100% happy with what I received and look forward to carrying my cat son around in it.I have a very skittish kitty named Eddie who I love dearly and do not want him home while our apartment is being sprayed for roaches, so I did a lot of research and bought a pretty well reviewed bag.What I didn’t expect was a deeply upsetting story of the business owner’s beloved kitty being crushed by traffic because he bought a cat backpack off the internet. Not only was that an image I really did not want while setting up something to take care of my kitty cat, I just don’t feel like it filled me with a great amount of confidence, as I, too, have purchased a cat backpack off the internet.I haven’t forced Eddie into it, so I’m not going to comment on its use as much, but maybe leave the story off your packaging. I don’t feel like I am now excited to use this bag, as now all I can think of is a poor kitty falling out of a bag into traffic. Not a great setup for this product.Purchased this for our Maltipoo’s first plane trip. We are very pleased with the quality, comfort, features & overall value. It Carrie’s well on my back and our little pooch seems to be very comfortable in it. This is our first trip so will comment on durability with an update after we get a few trips under our belt.I had bought this along with the PETKIT Pet Backpack Carrier for Cats and Puppies, Ventilated Cat Backpack Carrier with Inbuilt Fan & Light - honestly not that great. the fan was super low couldnt feel it and light was shining in front of my cat's eyes.This bag is a game changer. Excellent material. my cat jumped right in and enjoyed the spaciousness it provided. I travelled half way across the country and she did great.There were about four openings for her to enjoy the view. I wish the handle bar on top could be unhinged off in someway but regardless , excellent bag!! DO NOT HESITATE TO BUYI have a kitten that I rescued from a traumatic near death experience outside. Once I got her adjusted to the indoors she wanted absolutely nothing to do with the outdoors. I put this in her “room” (the bathroom) and she started sleeping in it. Now I put her in what she thinks is her bed to take her outside and on the car. She does not protest at all. It makes her feel safe. Very durable. Very comfortable to carry. Excellent purchase.I’ll begin with all cats are different. I have 4, this one bought for my one elderly cat, who is very attached to me, who would be flying for the first time, because the last time I left her, she almost passed away. I’m not sure if my other 3 would even let me put them in this backpack, but the one who traveled with me did absolutely wonderful with this! I bought this a week before travel and let her get use to it. She would often look for it and take naps in the extended part. When it came time to fly, this backpack, is sturdy, well made, you can carry it from the top if you choose, it fit purrfectly under the seat without me moving the bottom part in the bag that was talked about in some questions for it to fit under the seat. I’ll end with I did purchased some other carriers to make sure I chose the right one as I was second guessing my first choice(this one) but none were made as well as this one(by far) and felt my cat felt most secure and comfortable in this one.This is definitely not among the cheapest, but I think it is worth the price. Overall I really like the backpack, it looks pretty to human taste, inside it's spacious and soft, my cat seems to feel comfortable when she stands up and put her paws on the mesh (I saw her struggling with the mesh from bags of other brands). At the airport, several people asked me where did I get my backpack.The cats enjoy sitting in it, I found a feather in it this morning and they will pounce on each other. This will probably stay out as a play space all the time, rather than be collapsed for storage.The vet complimented it when we used it for that transport. The pockets on it were handy for the occasion, carrying my wallet and phone to the appointment, and some paperwork/sample food going home. It was nice it could be unzipped pretty fully, so three walls of protection/comfort while on the examination table but still open and accessible to the vet.The dual top flap is a bit weird in that there's only one clasp for two rolls of material. I have not tested the zipper-lock mentioned.My only real complaint, and something I find quite surprising considering the story of it's invention - no firm structural integrity. It's all fabric. I love that it stays upright for their play, something I sought after they enjoyed playing with a previous backpack, but in the case of an accident, cat could still get crushed. I will use the Amazon carrier with metal structure for car trips, but since our vet is next door, this is perfect for that trip and emergency evacuations. I would not be comfortable taking my pet on a bike with this since it has no roll cage. The fabric looks sturdy, but crush protection is something I'm really surprised the inventor overlooked.The brisk Tails backpack is fantastic! It has breathable fabric, secure zippers, lumbar protection, a car safety belt, extendable walls, a protective leash, and mesh windows instead of plastic windows, excellent quality and cute packaging, but the main quality is that Zoe felt comfortable and protected and enjoyed the ride.
