This review is for the 5 by 7 ice pack, which is what I received instead of the 6 by 12. It comes as a pack of four pads. The overall build quality seems to be good -- the pouch feels pretty substantial and the outer seam is well made to avoid leakage. The amount of gel in each pack is a bit more than usual. While that helps with the length of time this can provide a useful amount of cold, it also makes the packs hard to bend when frozen. Other gel packs I have do a much better job of remaining flexible even when frozen.The set does not come with any type of cover for the packs, and the plastic is not all that comfortable against my skin. I made my own cover by wrapping the pack with a microfiber dish towel which makes these much more comfortable to use.You have to take care to distribute the gel and keep these flat before freezing or they will come out of the freezer all lumpy and misshapen, and can't be reshaped until they have melted a bit.They are made in Canada.While these do work as a cold pack (and can also be heated in the microwave for heat therapy) there are too many cons compared with similar cold packs to give these anything more than 3 stars (average). They are functional but there are better options available for the same or less money.
