For me, this is better than the classic first film, and that's an accomplishment in and of itself. Natural continuation of the previous film, but with more depth and meaningful messages to make it stand on its own. I find David to be a character to model after. Very mature, grounded & caring. His relationship with Xian is entertaining. Xian is more fleshed out & Dennis Chan has great chemistry with Sasha Mitchell who isn't given enough credit for his work in these films. Tong Po is even more menacing & brutal in this film.
