Product Description

A scathing story of mandatory minutiae, softening students, pretentious parents, too much testing, common core conundrums, and the slow death of a noble profession.I will not remain silent any longer. As a teacher, I've heard what the corrupt politicians, enabling parents, cowardly administrators, misguided "education reformers," and anonymous online trolls have to say about me and my brothers and sisters in the education field. Now it's my turn. RETRIBUTION: A Teacher Strikes Back is the 4th iconoclastic offering from the author of Why Are All the Good Teachers Crazy, S.C.R.E.W.E.D., An Educational Fairytale, and Teaching Sucks, But We Love It.

If you've read this author before, you won't be disappointed. If you haven't, then prepare yourself. Stepnowski has written a bare-knuckled, no-holds-barred look at what's like to teach in our schools today that should be required reading for parents and parents-to-be, teachers and teachers-to-be, professors responsible for teacher training, school board members and administrators at EVERY level. Is he honest? Brutally. Is he prone to profanity? Yep. His many fans might be disappointed (and maybe shocked) if he wasn't. Is he absolutely passionate about teaching and loving his students? Beyond all measure. He'll also make you laugh and cry and pound the pages of this book with outrage at what's happening to our students and teachers in our schools. BUT if you truly want to know what it's like to be a teacher today, if you really care about the state of education today, and if you want to pull up your boot straps and work together with other concerned citizens to make our schools better for the sake of our children and our country, then let this book be your how-to guide to get started. You might want to get a copy of his first three books too: Why Are All The Good Teachers Crazy?. S.C.R.E.W.E.D. An Educational Fairytale and Teaching Sucks -- But We Love It Anyway. The time to act is now. The time to buy these books (if you haven't read them yet) is now. And it's time we all stood up and said, " #%&*. WE DEMAND GOOD SCHOOLS FOR OUR CHILDREN AND WE'RE GOING TO GET THEM." Disclaimer: I had the privilege to watch Stepnowski in action as a colleague and friend. I would have given anything to have been his student, but in essence, I was. He taught me a lot. Let him teach you, too, with Retribution: A Teacher Strikes Back.
