If you're under 5'5" and have a frame smaller than a linebacker's, you know how hard it is to find a comfortable desk chair. If we could lower desks, that might help, but we can't. So, we're stuck trying to find an awkward height compromise between an adjustable chair we're swimming in, with feet barely touching the ground, and a standard height desk. I'm 5'3" and I have low back issues (SI and facet) and this is now my fourth chair in a year. Two were VERY expensive (over $500) because I was specifically looking for lumbar support and sought out brands known for ergonomic design. Only they were obviously built for men. So, even with a lumbar pillow, they didn't support my back at all, and by the end of the day, I was having to stand. I finally took a chance and bought this chair because it looked "small." Turns out, it's not that small. I still need my lumbar pillow. And I also still need to work wearing wedges so my legs stay at a healthy angle with my feet touching the ground. But I am FINALLY comfortable and working without unbearable pain.Note - assembly was SUPER easy. I kept looking for directions but there were none. Then I realized why - you don't even need them.Also, the white chair came with a couple of dirty fingerprints on the seat. Magic eraser worked but it took a while. I know this fabric/color is going to get filthy. In retrospect, I should have paid the extra $35 or so for the black one.I ordered this chair for my home office. I recently switched to working full time from home and needed something fairly immediately. I would, of course, have much rather gotten a higher end chair with more long-term comfort, but I had a tight budget to work in. I've been sitting in this chair every day for about 8 - 8.5 hours for a week. Here are my thoughts:PROS -- This chair looks so nice. There was no damage or problems aesthetically, and I like the style.- It tilts and swivels and raises/lowers very easily.- It was ridiculously easy to put together. It probably took me less than 5 minutes, and most of that time was taken cutting the packaging off.- I've tried it both with and without the arms. It looks great and I appreciate the ability to choose.- It feels really sturdy and well constructed. I haven't found any wiggles or loosening.CONS -- This chair isn't white, it's definitely off-white. It still looks fine with my stuff, but I just wasn't prepared.- The casters on the bottom legs are fairly horrible. It doesn't roll well on low-pile carpet or hardwood. It sounded almost like it was scratching the wood.- I wouldn't say this chair is particularly comfortable (though not dreadfully uncomfortable). It seems to have enough cushion, but there's something about the back position that makes it tough to sit in for longer period. I put in a lumbar support and it's helped a lot. My butt and legs have been fine, it's just my lower back that's sore. I am also using a foot rest now, and that's helping.Overall, I'd definitely recommend this chair for its aesthetics and quality. If you're sitting for a few hours a day, you should be fine. Longer stints might need a few customizations.Unfortunately, I had to return the item. I got halfway through putting it together and found that there was a manufacturing error that would not allow the right arm to attach. Luckily I did not destroy the packaging so I was able to return it. I didn't want to wait for a replacement (this was during the COVID-19 shut down so shipping was taking longer than usual), so I ended up purchasing basically the same product from another company.Aside from the manufacturing issue.. the product seemed sturdy and surprisingly good quality for the price. Everything was packaged well. The directions were super basic and didn't give much detail.A few items I wish I had known at the beginning... There are little rings on each metal part of the wheel - these stay on. It does take some strength and determination to get each wheel piece into the base. Also, the white is more of an off-white rather than a pure bright white.Chair is great. Shipping was terrible. Arrived scuffed up. Too much hassle to ship back the whole chair though. Hope no one notices.Very sturdy and comfortable chair.I wanted to give the Jive Mid Back Office Chair 5 Stars so bad because it matches my home office perfectly. Its fairly easy to assemble, came with all the parts, and directions / manual. The reason I couldn't give 5 stars... 1st it arrived way later than the expected delivery date, I had to call them and ask for the location, then they gave me the UPS Tracking number. It was stuck at the dock for some reason. 2nd when it arrived the cushion had a dent in it and not one that looks like it will fill out after sitting on it over a period of time. I cannot bad mouth Wholesale Living (Seller) because the customer service was excellent. They worked with me to try and meet my needs so I respect that yet I have to take away 1 star for the inconvenience. If I can load pics later I will so everyone can witness true luxurious style at its best!Packaging- Fair (damaged cushion)Assembly- Excellent (Easy)Comfort- ExcellentStyle- ExcellentI would recommend this chair to anyone who has a modern contemporary styled office or dark espresso furniture, it will match for sure!I like this chair very much. It is comfortable and well designed. It seems sturdy as well. Only reason for 4 stars, is that the packaging was not strong enough, so one of the legs was hanging out of the box and that leg had some scratches on it. Not enough to send it back I decided, but I thought for a pricy chair like this they could have done a little better there.Nice chair. It does make metal-on-metal noise when I move but it doesn't bother me. It's a well constructed chair that is rather easy to assemble. I wish it had more lumbar support and maybe a little more padding in the seat. I love that it leans back. That's more important to me than some other chair qualities. I can rock in it - it's not just a tilt.At first glance, the chair looked to be exactly what we wanted. We started to put it together and realized that there was a bolt and one wheel missing. I'm sure it would have been great, but to us, it wasn't worth the hassel of exchanging it.
