The combination of book and DVD works well. The DVD is great to learn the exercises, and you can easily follow along in the book with its foldouts for each section, but once you've learned them, you can do the exercises from the book without the DVD. The book is broken down into four 15-minute exercise sessions. The time estimate is accurate, and you can easily do each section separately or combine them when you feel you want to do more. These exercises definitely provide relief for me. The exercises are all easy to follow (though, skip the push-up style ones if you have shoulder issues). The book does not get into a ton of long medical discussions about the back. It explains the basics, then moves you right into the exercises.
