First off, let me preface this review by saying that my two favorite albums right now are Converge's "You Fail Me" and Pelican's "The Fire In Our Throats Will Beckon The Thaw"That being said, this album, in my opinion is for lack of a better term, wonderful.True, it is a solo album and fans of BSS and Metric might think it's slow but could you REALLY imagine Emily Haines releasing a Metric sans Metric album? of course it's going to be slow, and if you read anything about the artist she started off as a child writing songs on piano, her foot firmly pressing the mute pedal. This is a singer/songwriter album. I'm not going to go track through track and give my little synopsis because with lyrics this personal...interpretation is the key. if you've ever had your heart broken in an unconventional sense then this album will melt from repeated play. if you're a fan of MUSIC, not just the dancable indie genre then you'll love this album. as i started off stating, my two favorte albums are VASTLY different from this one in sound...but if you know anything about jacob bannon, not so different in content. give it a go, give it a listen. if you don't like it. well. you're simply wrong.Crowd surf off a cliff:"rather give the world away than wake up lonely."if you get the line you get the album.
