The negative first:1. It is billed as a way to deliver continuous warmth to the back. I find it to be no more warming than any other close fitting rather heavy weight garment. Total bust there.2. A seated position will produce a bit of a "rolling" effect, especially in front. More a cosmetic concern than a functional one.On the positive side:1. Very well made. I've had no difficulty with the velcro closures and adustments. I haven't yet had to launder it, so can't speak to that, but looking at the material I feel confident that following the label directions should produce a good result.2. Fits true to size. I'd recommend buying the size you'd buy for men's sweat pants. Round up a half size if you have a "gut". (guilty!). By that I mean iIf you wear a 2X sweat but don't have much left over room, go 3X. If you wear 2X with a little room to spare, you'll likely be ok. I think (no experience here) that slender body types might even round down a half size. There's plenty of room to adjust and you WANT a tight fit.3. Worn next the skin, it is both comfortable and not especially noticable.3. It's very comfortable to wear standing or seated. However that means the level of support is less than a fully stayed and rigid device. The support comes mostly from the tight fit and banding. There is little restriction in movement laterally. That is fine for me; it reduces my back pain when walking and allows me to sit with it on comfortably.4. Worn next to the skin everyone should find it makes visits to the rest room "normal".As long as you aren't expecting a device to increase circulation to an affected area or mysteriously provide "warmth", I recommend this as a very decent back support.I made an error in ordering this item, and though it was not returnable, the seller was willing to take it back anyhow, Full disclosure: The Amazon page implied it was returnable but the details excluded some sizes and colors and I did not read that so it was my fault. The size was too small and the seller offered to accept my return. I ended up keeping the item and extended the velcro closure so it will work. Bottom line, customer service was wonderful and remember to read the details,I used the manufacturer size chart and ordered this in medium. It was WAY too small. I realize this product is designed to work as a compression garment, but this was ridiculous. Fortunately, I ordered this as a Prime item and was able to return it. I ordered again in a large from an outside vendor. The large should be sufficient to allow proper closure and fit.03-07-14--I have now used the large size Thermoskin for several weeks. I have found it to be VERY comfortable and it does not restrict movement. The fabric does keep the skin/muscles warm as advertised and I find this does reduce discomfort. Thermpskin is much less bulky and can be worn under clothing as well. Also, since it is not bulky, it does not tend to slide around or ride up as other support items have done. This is especially important since riding in the car for long distances can be particularly uncomfortable. I am well pleased with this item. I have sewed on pull straps to make it easier to put on and get good compression. I am not sure how this will work in hot summer weather. Will probably buy another one so I can keep them clean. They need to drip dry.I have been wearing this for about a week after previously wearing a much bulkier immobilizing brace for an injury (fractured vertebrae). I have a relatively small waist and wide hips with a definite backside, and this is able to mold itself to my shape in a way that I did not find with other braces I have tried. It is not a heavy-duty brace for a lot of support for heavy lifting, it provides mild compression and heat retention. Mostly I don't even feel the heat but when I remove it and touch my skin, it is definitely warmer than normal and best of all, the heat and compression gives me a lot of relief when I start feeling twinges and soreness. Trying not to wear it too much and become dependent on it, but I sometimes forget I have it on. The lining is comfortable and keeps it in place. With loose clothing, it is invisible as the compression just about cancels out the thickness of the material. I just bought a second one because it takes a while to drip-dry.Great support! This is not a back brace it is great support when doing workI gave it 3 stars due to it's durability.Cannot be returned or exchanged. I ordered XL. Too large. Tough luck.I use it when my back is causing me to not be able to stand upright. Without it I have to lean forward and use a cane to support myself. I still use the can along with it at times. I sometimes wear it at night because by accident I found it helps with some of my neurological problems. I found that it helps to relieve my Neuropathy in my legs, arms and chest. I have actually had to wrap my arms and legs in ace bandages before I got this brace. I don't know if it will work for you; but I was really glad I found it. The only things I would mention is that it does get warm sometimes. I tend to become very warm when I sleep. Also I wish it was a little longer. Otherwise I would recommend it.Got it for my wife and she loves it . Previously to this she had the heated belts which kept malfunctioning. So turned to this one very supportive and provides a comfortable amount of heatIt is really poor quality. Does not cost even half of the money that i paid for it.Weak, not warm, and not supportive at all. I bought it in advance (in august) and sorry about this purchase now (in october) when i need that warm and support what i have paid for and can't get from this.This belt is great for anyone requiring some back support, but not be too restricted in movement. It is lightweight, and easy to wear,not bulky under clothing, but gives good support where neededI get occasional problems with my back, when I feel slight twinges occurring I use this for support. It certainly give you confidence to do things which you would normally not do if your back is not 100%It gives me support on my long walks fishing and when the pain is bad,an excellent product that works very well for any back support excellent for a slipped disc
