This is a versatile - good for both outdoor activities and casual wear - item with nice lines. I bought them because of their functionality. I needed shorts with zipper pockets to ride roller coasters, as theme parks do not permit handbags on coasters and it's important that all items be fully secured, especially on inverted coasters. The zipper pockets on these shorts are great and will definitely serve the purpose. There are two things I don't like about these shorts: 1) they're somewhat longer than I prefer (I'm 5'5" and these come almost to my knees, whereas I prefer my shorts to hit a couple of inches above the knee; and 2) there is too much material on the high waistband in the back. I ordered these in a 10 to make certain that I had plenty of room but am going to have the waist altered. It was either that or send them back and considering that they were shipped from the UK and nice except for the two issues I mentioned, I decided to keep them.
