Very comfortable with very even distribution throughout. The insides do not shift and leave parts "empty." After being heated, heat seems to last for a good 15 minutes before needing to be reheated again. Good coverage down the back and as long as you're not doing a lot of moving around, will stay in place rather reliably.Was accidentally microwaved for way too long at one point (about 4 minutes), but it didn't seem to affect it's use, other than a slight "vegetable" smell when it's just removed from the microwave.Would order again if somehow lost or damaged.My Dental Hygienist always complains about shoulder and back pains caused by her career. She uses her hands a lot and leans over which strains her muscles. I purchased this Heating Wrap as a Christmas gift for her. She was very excited, and told me that it helps with her pain so well that she has stopped taking medication for pain! It sits well on her shoulders and reaches her back, so she does not have to use two separate pads to feel relief. She said this heating pad keeps the heat longer than any of her other ones, and feels the softest, too. She seems very pleased with her gift and I'm even going to get one for myself! :)Absolutely fabulous.....I was experiencing severe upper back and neck pain and I cannot go to a chiropractor. Massages helped for about 20 minutes...and the frustration of not being able to reach the area myself to apply creams or hold some heat device to it, were maddening. I just saw this, bought it, with very little hope it would help. Within 2 days, the pain is reduced dramatically and much movement is restoring. It stays put, too...you can walk around, sit at a desk, etc...it saved my sanity. I feel human again...in fact, I have it on right now. Love it!Well made, nice shape & weight; comfortable. My only problem with this is the short length of time it stays hot/warm. 10 minutes is all you get. I wonder if the cordless, more expensive model from Hammlacher Schlemmer does a better job?Does the job. My only complaint is that it takes a long time in the microwave - at least 3 cycles on 1.5 minutes - to get warm enough to do any good. Very heavy too, but that's okay with me.It's well made but if you need it for mid back the large isn't big enough go for the xlarge.This item fit me perfectly. Came quickly when I needed it.Good size. Works for Heat or Cold.
