Makes the remote easier to hold onto. Keeps a faint glow long enough for me to find it when lights off. Like that I have a spare if this one wears out or I get another device. I've been using it for several months.I bought these on a whim, never thought they would make such a huge difference! I bought this one, and another from eBay. I think the only thing this one lacks is the rubber over the volume buttons. That would make these perfect! Volume is a bit hard to hit without it, the eBay ones I bought don't have rubber over the directional pad which is kinda nice but I prefer what this one has. But the eBay one does have rubber over the volume buttons and it's so much nicer! But the grip, style, and coverage over the directional pad is superior on this one so I'm using this one.I find this Chromecast with Google TV silicone protective case will provide protection for my remote. I would prefer if the bottom of the protective case provided full protection. If the remote falls and lands on its bottom, the remote would make contact with the floor.The side opening for the volume controls has thicker material above the controls, while the opening below the controls has thinner material.However, the protective case does what it's supposed to do. Therefore, I still give it 5 stars.Could do without the cat ears, but they don't bother me enough to not use these.Perfect for what it is, a way for me to id where the remote is after the lights are off. Both colors standout in the dark, and the glow is noticeable. Exactly what I wanted, and maybe I'll come around on the cat ears?These are really nice for what they're meant to do.They don't really 'glow' as one would think, but they still illuminate and thus somewhat quite easy to spot in the dark.Overall a very nice cover for Chromecast remote. Fits perfectly. Feels great to hold the remote in hand and makes the remote look cute.My only issue with this cover is the wide opening at the bottom, which is one of the most vulnerable location to cause damage to the remote it were to fall on the floor. I wish they could close that gap.Overall I happy with this cover.Perfect, cover the whole thing except a small potion on the back, ( where you put the remote in and out for battery changes) ... not a big deal, it’s very nice, cute and hugs the remote very well, it protects perfectly fine, unless your the kind who throws remotes across the room. Lol
