It is constructed with a water resistant molded foam base, an integrated lumbar support for prolonged comfort, and a heavy-duty design featuring high-impact polypropylene. Don't waste your money on one of those cheap Wise seats. I've replaced two of them over the years, upgrading each time and they still are cheaply made. If you get any rough water or weigh more than 250 lbs, you'll trash those seats. This Tempress seat is solid, well made, and looks like the original seats that are in my Lund fishing boat. The straight back is very comfortable for long hours in the seat. I'm sure I won't be replacing this one in two years like the Wise seats. The old saying of "You get what you pay for" is right on. This one is worth the extra money.
