This thing is amazing for getting my back to straighten out at the end of a hard day. Watch some YouTube videos on how to do various routines with it and I figured out what worked for me. I prefer the bumpy surface because it really works the knots in my back muscles. This roller might not be for you if your just using a roller like this for alignment issues.
