This filmed record of the art installation is as important and moving as the actual exhibit that I just (gratefully) saw at Kohler Art Centre in Sheboygan, Wi. See both if you can! Brent Green poetically recounts the story of Leonard and Mary Wood in video and dialog. Mr. Wood felt that by building their home by hand he was also making a healing machine for his beloved wife's cancer. Mr. Green is as much a visionary artist as Mr. Wood and everyone involved with all aspects of the film, script, book, exhibit, and soundtrack deserve high praise for their "fine" video art. The technique he chose was stop motion animation using humans (instead of clay, etc.) and it was breathtaking to view! Have Kleenex handy as this is very, very moving. It includes background extras on the DVD in interviews with Mr. Green. The book is the script of the film in a reproduction of Mr. Green's handwritten original. A sad and beautiful work of art. Fascinating.
