It does help the pain on my lower back. It is comfortable.The straps are not attached to the belt and that’s not shown in the picture description and I wish I knew that before I bought it!Helps my back painNoI am a larger person(38" waist) and it barely fit around me, It also didn't seem to offer much support. I used it for a day when splitting/cutting firewood and it seemed to move around and fold over, Basically a waste of moneyBrace is well made but they run 1size to big. The second straps wont overlap & stick together so you have to run 1 across top & the other on the bottom. The metal pcs in the back will rip there holders immediately when sitting. If you have low back muscles that strain immediately this brace in the correct size will support you & relieve pain immediately. There made almost exactly as tough as the ones in walmarts sport section b4 they stopped selln them. The shoulder straps keep it holding your gut perfectly. Hopefully they have my size in stock this timeI have used the med size before (for almost two years now). The size runs a bit small, so if you normally wears med, you should order the large size for a better fit.The lumbar support offers very good support, which explain why I purchased another large size one, since the med was a bit tight. We have three of the med size in our office used by other colleagues. I use this for work and at home to alleviate back pain, and it worked very well. The lumbar support may also prevent further back injury if used while lifting. The shoulder strap is less useful for me, so it was never used. You can use the lumbar support while sitting in front of a computer as well to improve your posture, and prevent back pain. I wear it several hours at a time without any discomfort. Overall, very happy with the purchase. The Velcro strap is also very easy to adjust, and very durable, and works fine even after two years of constant use.One thing for the vendor to consider is to add a stiffer support on the back, perhaps a thin metal plate(?) to further improve the lumbar support. This will most likely increase the price, but I would spend the extra money for a better support. The product is already great as is, but can be made better for those that suffers back pain. For back pain prevention or to prevent lumbar damage from heavy lifting, this is highly recommended.I bought this belt on the recommendation of my chiropractor to help speed the muscular recovery process in my lower back after having a chiropractic spinal column readjustment procedure done last week. I work in a job which involves occasionally lifting large, bulky objects. This belt will also help to protect the back from injury when lifting such objects. The belt features I like most are its sturdy velcro fasteners, its comfort when being worn, the vertical rubber strips inside the center of belt which help keep the belt from changing position when belt fastened. The belt also has removable suspender straps which keep the belt from slipping downward after tightening. If heavy lifting needs to be performed, the belt has adjustable side panels which can be tightened to provide extra back support. The belt also comes in a variety of sizes for different waist sizes. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking to purchase a good quality back support belt.great
