There were initially quite uncomfortable and I was worried they’d take forever to break in because the leather was so tough. I even thought of sending them back, but two of my friends bought this style before me and said to hold out. Cut to a week later and a small handful of short wears, and they were perfectly comfortable to wear all around the city. This is my third or fourth pair of birks though first of this style. I love the slightly more feminine look and the toe part (where I really worried about blisters) gives me no problem whatsoever. I would highly recommend these! The tobacco oiled leather also initially looked dinged up and scratched but after breaking them in the leather color also gets more subdued and no longer has these marks/discoloration.
