These little white boards are handy and cute. They’re a great size to use for jotting notes at your desk. They’re double-sided, with one plain side and one patterned (dot-grid in my case) side. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the dot grid is much more subtle in person than the images in the product listing look.I’ve posted a photo of three boards. The left and middle ones are showing the two types of sides. I used some Expo Vis-a-vis water-erasable markers, a couple of Vis-Aid water-erasable markers, and Tackie water erasable markers. There appears to be a problem with the blue Vis-a-vis as it isn’t staying as solid as the other colors. I wrote on them when I got them but most of the writing faded. I decided to do this test so I cleaned these two boards with alcohol and the test writing hasn’t faded.The board on the right is a board that I used straight out of the packet for testing. Most of the lettering faded in just a few minutes to hours. I would have given these two or three stars but I decided to do fresh tests so I cleaned the left and middle boards with alcohol and the lettering stayed. For testing of the board on the right, I cleaned a blank area on the bottom right with alcohol and wrote on it. The information written there hasn’t faded like most of the writing on the rest of the board.Lesson learned. Clean the boards before using them. I don’t know if water works as well as alcohol does.I’m rating only four stars because these boards are overpriced for what they are. I have bought six 9 x 12 sturdy white boards (one-sided, but a little thicker and sturdier than these) for less than $3 each. These are $6 each. If they weren’t so pricey, I’d probably buy the set with the yellow legal pad on one side but they’re not worth that high a price to me.
