This album had me worried, as the first two songs didn't do too much for me. But it was like eating your veggies first to get them out of the way before diving into the full meal and it was delicious! The rest of the album bar maybe one alright song on the latter half (Ginger) is non-stop incredible. Even singles that hadn't impressed me before (Cough it out) sound much better in the context of the album than they do on their own. Highlights include Historic Cemetery, Plastic Flowers, 2YL (That horn section towards the end is unbelievably catchy) and West Virginia. But honestly, the whole album is incredible and these guys are worth supporting. Their energy in concert blew me away when they opened for Say Anything a few with their first album and I'm just happy to see they're still kicking butt as their career moves on. I wasn't as big a fan of Talon of the Hawk, but I felt this album was the best combination of their older more heartfelt sound with their newer harder-rock sensibilities.
