Men's Formal Satin Vest - Tuxedo Park Color Slim Fit Waistcoat for Weddings & Black Tie Events

I needed a green vest to wear for my daughter's wedding. The green on this vest paired well with my gray suit and green/gray plaid tie.It is flimsy and the quality is low, however, the price was cheap and the fact is no one will really notice how cheap it looks underneath a tuxedo. If you take the jacket off, however, everyone will notice the poor quality of the vest. So, it will work for you underneath a jacket, but I would not recommend otherwise. Since the vest was cheap I feel that it's value is reasonable. Personally, I won't return this because of the effort BUT I do wish I paid another ten or more bucks for a better quality vest that I can wear all the time. I am going to wear this thing one time and then the next time I have a formal event I will purchase a more quality vest.I’m more annoyed that returns aren’t free than anything else. It’s a fine vest. Nothing special.First, the waistcoat (vest). Nicely made, comfortable weight of material--substantial without being needlessly heavy. Stitching is good and even, the buttons feel secure in their attachment, it looks good under a tuxedo jacket. All in all it is a good value--it looks more expensive than it is.Now, for the seller, Uniformtux: I inadvertently ordered the wrong size, which I discovered when the waistcoat arrived and I tried it on, only to discover I was swimming in it (I wear an XL, but had accidentally ordered a 5XL!). When I informed the seller, there were no recriminations, no argument, within minutes I had the return instructions in an email. I was responsible for paying the return shipping, but, hey, it was my mistake in the first place, so I couldn't quarrel with that. I did not have to pay shipping on the replacement waistcoat, and I had it in my hands within a few days. So Uniformtux has a very satisfied customer--a good product and excellent customer service.Many reviews talk about how large this vest is. I'm 5'8" and ~340lbs. I wear 3XL shirts, and occasionally 4X depending on the cut/manufacturer/type. I ordered a 3X vest, and it just barely fits me. It is a little short, though, showing the bottom of my "gut" a little bit. But, I like it still. A 4X might be a slightly better fit for people around my height and stature, but the 3X just barely fits me. It certainly won't fit you if you're any taller or heavier than I am, so hopefully that will help people who aren't sure what size they should order. My only complaint is that it's rather short for a 3XL. People who wear a 3X have pretty big bellies, so it should be a little longer to cover the front all the way down to the waistline. But, for the price and such, I'm happy with my purchase.Quality of these vest is very nice. The RED is exactly red, not orange, not magenta, not candy-apple. Just the right RED. This is part of the uniform for the men's chorus with which my teenage son sings. He grew taller but not wider between ages 13 and 16, so we went from a REGULAR to a TALL of the same size, since it still fit his width but now left a lot of his shirt exposed above his belt when he reached 6-feet. The TALL was more like a TTT and hangs below his jacket, and the arm holes are proportioned the same. There needs to be a size/length in-between.Very nice for the price. The color is and the material is nice. Delivery was FAST!!! Returning because it’s too big. A 5X is truly a 5X. Be ware of some of these reviews.This is a very okay vest. I like vests but often seem to have a hard time finding good ones. This was another attempt at finding a nice vest and it was, overall, not a success.The vest is a nice black color that is even throughout. The buttons look nice and are sewn on well; they don't feel like they will fall off. The waist adjustment strap isn't great, but it works, and it's certainly no worse than many another vest I've worn.The vest itself is made of cheaper material. While I expected that given the low price, I didn't expect the fabric to be as stiff as it was. Not only does it not feel very nice to the touch, it bows out or bunches up oddly when you move in it. The sheen of the satin also just didn't appeal to me. The vest is going for that very formal look you'd associate with a black tie event, but ends up just looking gaudy. Finally, it seems like everything sticks to the front of this vest; any stray hair, flake of skin, piece of dust, or food particle seemed drawn to the vest.Overall I would not buy this vest again and recommend you give it a pass. There's got to be something better out there.
