Mom has back problems and finds these reusable hot pads easy to use. They are muck better that the disposable stick on pads.I have a chronic illness. Sometimes it’s hard to enjoy things at night like camping… it was so nice to feel like I could enjoy something due to this product. It’s great that you can reuse and just boil and cool each use for needs. Don’t need to plug it in or buy a new one was big for us! Easy to store! Worked better then my heating pad at home and for 4 hours vs shut off at 2hrs. Worth every penny!I needed something that I could take on the go for my monthly cramps. I saw this demonstrated at the LA wine fest a few years ago and couldn't get it out of my mind, don't know why it took me so long to just get it. It stays hot for about 20 to 30 minutes as people say and I even use it to help keep food hot for when I'm going on a picnic or something. The best feature is that it doesn't have to be plugged in, it is an independently working product that just uses a chemical reaction to heat up. I needed something that I did not need to plug in and prefer anything that is reusable always. Boiling this item is so easy, I don't know if the people who had difficulty just weren't following the instructions properly, we're not adding enough water and just letting it go, or got defective products but I've been reboiling mine / reusing mine endlessly and I have not had any issues. I went with this brand again because it is something that I Saw demonstrated in person and thought I would try an option with a brand I trusted. I recommend it for people who need to use heat packs frequently.Again I'm going to repeat the tip I provided above of using this heat pack for when you have to keep food hot! It's pretty awesome.I've purchased 8 (4 pairs) within 2 months for 3 people to rotate and use on sore muscles. 1 pair that I rec'd were DOA and on others [their] "different styled", plastic encases metal activators are difficult to activate the chemical reactions AND 4 have become dented and unusable. (I use a standard sized sharpie marker to "click" the activators). When I posted questions after my first pair -- one responder answered: "scratch them with your fingernails (for better results)". Well, *THAT* doesn't work.Also; I did, in fact follow exactly the directions on resetting the heat packs.Best Of Luck, All Buyers!Very hot and heats within a few seconds. Very pleased. No problems recharging.I've had to tell my friends about these, because they're amazing. I've had mine for a couple months now, and because it seems like some people have had hit or miss experiences, I waited to see how it would hold up before reviewing.First, these are just super cool to activate: push the button and then you get heat! Then apply over a cloth or something to ensure you don't overheat the skin. It lasts at least a good 45 minutes. I always fall asleep, so I'm not sure exactly how long it lasts.Sometimes I use it for a particular area (I have lower back pain and tight IT bands), but in the winter I more use it to warm up my bed like a hot water bottle, before getting in.Yes, the returning it to its "liquid" state can be annoying, but I don't mind. It actually gives me two uses out of the heating pack. I put it in the boiling water, and based on some of the reviews, I try not to let it just sit against the bottom of the pan where it might melt. As it boils, I occasionally lift to check all the crystals are dissolved. Once everything is liquid again, I carefully set it on a dry dish towel and pat it dry.If I'm going to be using the heating pad that night, I'll then carefully put it in my bed between the comforter and the top sheet (so I don't burn myself). Then it warms the bed while I finish my nightly rituals.The pack WON'T activate if it's too warm, but I can use the heat of the boiling process that first night, and then activate it the second night. Then it's pretty much two uses per time.I'll probably check out the other sizes as well and decide if I want to get another one. In the larger size.I ordered this heat pack for my 90 year old Mother she said it works great. She uses it at night when she goes to bed for her lower back. I did not want her to fall asleep with a heating pad on. She boils it per the instructions then just click the button when ready to use and it heats up. Stays warm for an hour just enough time for her to fall asleep.I love these things. I have several different brands but this particular brand seems to be sturdy. The "snap" is easier to use than others. All of these are basically vinyl pack with acetate inside. Warm and super convenientGreat product easy to use and reuseI have other products similar to these but could no longer buy those so for this one. It does not get as hot or stay hot as long as my other ones but otherwise it is ok.Got to put on Charlie horses and it works very very well.
