The Journal is nicely made, with a nice 'touch' of the cover surface. The pages are sturdy and as noted they are line standard spacing. There is a 'string' to identify the page you are working/ writing on, and a elastic band to keep the journal closed. There is also a pen/pencil elastic ring/band to hold your thin pen or my case a mechanical pencil. I use Muji pen and mechanical pencils. and they fit nice and secure.Small size works best for my messenger bag and easily accessible for note taking. The pages have a DATE area to keep track of when you made entries and I particularly like that the pages are bound permanently which for journal is preferred page type rather than a perforated type that pages can be removed or lost.I love the bright green color of this set of notebooks! So fun and very giftable. The pages are lined, and the paper quality is excellent. The journal overall is very durable.My only gripe is the cover isn't my favorite. The texture of the faux leather is really slippery. I don't know, it feels a little weird. And the cover also has the jotti logo debossed (indented) into it. It's not super noticeable, but I would have preferred to not have the brand so prominently displayed. I plan on giving these away as Christmas gifts, and I know the recipients will love them.Here's a pack of three lined journals. They have turned my opinion of faux leather upside down and backwards, because this is a very soft 'leather' that has taken the ordinary abuse of daily use without degrading. It still looks and feels like the first time I opened it.I have used the first of the three journals almost every day.. I use it for notes I need to keep, for ideas, and to record incidents of the day. With so much information at hand, I keep the journal close. It suits me very well.I use a lot of journals with my clients, so I like to find ones that are different every year, but on brand for my company. These silver journals are great - gender neutral, classy, and well made. Nice paper quality, sturdy cover. Very pleased with these!A few years ago I was at a meeting where I saw a guy take out a notebook, scribble some notes in it, close it up and put it away. I asked him later, and he said that he did that at every meeting. Does not matter what group, uses it until it is full, then gets a new one. I thought that was brilliant. I am involved in scouts, and church, and lots of other groups, have a bunch of meeting each week. Before that, I had a bunch of spiral bound notebooks, one for each group. Always forgot to bring the right one...So I started to carry one notebook. Take notes on whatever is important in the meeting, and then, if I need to go back, as long as it was still in that book, I should be able find it. Things like phone numbers, email addresses, dates all get put in there. Might not need them now, might not need them this year, but when I do, I know were I can find them. This is 160 pages, and each page has front and back, so even if I use a full front or back at each meeting, that is still enough for a year (don't have a meeting every day). These are a little too big to carry in a pocket, but might fit into a jacket pocket, or small enough just to carry into a meeting.They are well made, nice thick paper, even has a little ribbon to mark your place. The cover does not really feel like leather to me, but maybe I am used to a different quality of leather (this is very smooth). Feels very sturdy, and should last me for about 3 years! Once I have filled one, I just put it aside, and know it is available to get out and look if it was something that I know happened last year.As far as I’m concerned, there’s no such thing as too many notebooks. I stockpile them like a squirrel. Even better when there are color options! JOTTI has a lot of color options, which is really great if you have a few notebooks going at one time. Being able to color code notebooks by type of project is very helpful for me. The value is good, too.I picked the Silver color. The color isn’t as metallic as I expected, it looks more like a matte, flat silver to my eyes. Still pretty. The silver color actually shows up best in the logo -- the notebooks have the “jotti” logo debossed on the front cover, back cover, and spine. The logo is also printed inside the front cover. Honestly, I’m not a fan of the logo everywhere.The paperweight is 100gsm. I normally use a Stabilo 88 or Sharpie Pen in my notebooks. When I tried both, I had slight bleed through. The line spacing is a tad thicker than college ruled; the lines are actually rows of tiny dots that look like lines but aren’t as visually harsh as a solid line would be.The elastic closure loop, the elastic pen loop, and the ribbon bookmark match the color of the notebooks. On my silver notebooks, all are silver. The back cover has a pocket.These notebooks are the perfect size for convenient carrying but big enough to fill with journal musings, class and conference notes, or daily doodles without feeling cramped. They really emanate quality and the color I got (red) feels so classy. I'll be ordering more when these are filled up.The JOTTI Journal presented as a high-grade leather notebook and was striking in appearance. I selected a gold-toned set that is so stunning I don’t even want to write in it. Best features for me were the pen holder and flat-bound writing capability. The wide-lined spacing and the expandable pocket inside the back cover of the journal was a plus. I tend to jot down notes on all sorts of scrap paper and the expandable pocket is an idea location to secure those scraps until I transpose them into the journal. I also appreciated the imprinted word “date” on top of each page because I’m one of those neurotic writers that must include the date and time of my writings, each and every day.The JOTTI Journal might well become the journal I turn to when I need a bit of inspiration to write. The journals were package extremely well and shipping was as anticipated.
