These curtains were exactly what I was looking for. The charcoal gray color is very dark, almost black but not actually black. Every shade of gray I ordered was always light and almost matched the wall so when I saw charcoal I knew it's just what I needed. The block out a ton of light. I have them on a wrap around rod and the only light that gets thru is on the top but that's with any curtain. No light comes directly thru the curtain itself. They do come folded and semi compressed in the package so there are wrinkles in them. I did order the 84 inch length, hung the rod at 85 inches on the wall and the curtains floated just over the carpet. I did steam out the curtains and they now graze the top of the carpet which is just what I wanted, so keep it in mind that the wrinkles do take some of the initial length until they have been steamed, washed or naturally stretched out.
